Bumblebee Jasper Bee

Bumblebee Jasper is not a true Jasper as it does not contain Quartz. It's actually a sedimentary rock composed of mostly Calcite, some Aragonite, a sprinkling of Realgar (arsenic sulphide) to give that gorgeous yellow and orange colouring, and Pyrite is represented in the black banding.

It is found in only one location in the world, the active Papandayan Volcano, West Java, Indonesia. The formation of this gemstone takes place in fumaroles, or cracks, through which steam and gas can escape.
